Harvest - Laborer (Posted May 2003)
By Pastor Sharad B. Nirmal

In these last days we hear, see and read only about the “harvest, harvest and harvest is plenteous! And I am happy to see that almost every one is getting the vision of the end time harvest. And almost every church and organization is getting busy to make their own plans to go into the harvest field. Yes, it is very true that in these last days God is pouring out His Spirit on every one to enable young and old black and white, rich and poor to complete the Task, because He knew very well that in the last days perilous times would come [I Tim. 4:1-2; II Tim. 3:1-5], where very strange events will take place that people would seek supernatural intervention and Divine answer, and it would require great many laborers with the Supernatural power for the great harvest

Heart of the Harvest Lord

If you read Matt. 9: 35,36 you will notice that, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the Kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease, among the people.” As I read this passage I see very clearly that Jesus was pointing out towards the great multitude with great unsolved problems, seeking the Supernatural, and Divine answer. And at that point Jesus makes very significant statement, to which I believe every born again and Spirit filled minister of God must give heed. “ Then saith he unto his disciples, ‘ the harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray YE therefore the Lord of the harvest that he will send forth labourers into h

It is wonderful to know that prayer is not only talking to the heavenly Father and saying His Word back to Him or talking to the problems in the name of Jesus, or intercession or praise and Worship but more importantly prayer is the Time of self-Examination and self – searching before the Almighty God. Jesus, the Lord of the Harvest was challenging to his disciples to have the time of self-examinations and self-searching as the Harvest-labourers for the great harvest! Prayer is not only the self-examination time, but it is the time of conviction, Repentance, Restoration, Revelation and empowerment. When you genuinely seek the Lord on your knees you will start examining yourself, you will get convicted and you will repent and will be restored back into the sweet fellowship of the Almighty God and then He will reveal His plan His vision to you along with the provision (empowerment) to achieve His plan and vision. O Glory, Hallelujah!!

Harvest - Call
When Isaiah the Prophet went into the Temple of God, and when he saw the glory of God in that Temple he got convicted of his true nature. He started examining about himself. He said, “Woe is me! For I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.” (Is. 6:5). But miraculous thing happened in that Temple. Isaiah got cleansed by the fire and then he heard God speaking to him, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Marvelous Harvest call !Isaiah responded immediately. He said, “Here am I; send me.” (Is. 6:8).

While giving the Harvest call, “Jesus has called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devil, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” [Luke 9:1-2]. Also “they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where”(vs. 9). “After these things Lord Jesus appointed other seventy also, and sent them two by two with the same power and authority, before his face into every city and place…and said to them:‘ [a] Harvest is great.[b] Labourers are few.[c] Pray YE to the Lord of the harvest to send forth labourers into his harvest.” To pray also means to get involved in the call. Be a partner and be an active supporter. Our good Lord has given us wonderful position with Him. Paul writes about that position, “For we are laborers together with God….” (I Cor. 3:9).

Beloved it is our prayer that you may Read, hear, study, meditate, confess, and act on God’s Word with praise in your heart. And no doubt the Word of God, which gets deep into your heart will surely produce the response and you will experience and witness the great miracle of God in your day-to-day life
